Where to watch your in-car stream when using MyRaces.Live streaming services?
By default, all the live streams are available on the MyRaces.Live YouTube account.
Advantages:
You can schedule your live stream ahead of time (by setting up a start and stop time).
You can stream for up to 25 hours.
The MyRaces.Live stream will start as soon as the start time is past and will stay up until the stop time is past, regardless of whether there is a camera feed or not.
You can control the visibility of the video (live, upcoming or past) through the MyRaces.Live portal: public, unlisted, or private,
Replays are immediately accessible, and we automatically create multiple YouTube lives if your stream event is longer than 12 hours so that all your replays are always accessible (confer the YouTube limit of 12 hours for archiving live streams).
It is also possible to send your in-car stream to other platforms by using the restreaming feature. Here's how the restreaming feature compares between the free version and the premium and pro subscriptions:
Free | Premium | Pro |
Option to restream to 1 YouTube account | Option to restream to 1 custom RTMP/RTMPS destination (YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, Twitch, etc) | Option to restream to 3 custom RTMP/RTMPS destinations at the same time (YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, Twitch, etc) |
When using a custom destination, we still send your stream to MyRaces.Live YouTube Channel so that you always have a backup stream. You can use the "Visibility on MyRacesLive YouTube Channel" field to make the stream unlisted or private if you prefer to expose your race only to your custom destination.
To change the visibility of your stream on your MyRaces.Live YouTube channel:
Go to Race Streaming>Streams. Find your Stream Event in the Live/Upcoming/Past tab and click on the Stream Event to expand it.
Scroll down to the "STREAM DESTINATIONS"/"DESTINATIONS" box, then click on the edit icon at the top-right corner.
Click on the "MyRacesLive YouTube Visibility" , select the new visibility then click "Update":
Public: anyone can watch the video.
Unlisted: only people with the link can watch the video.
Private: nobody can watch the video (use this if you want to remove all access to the video).
Once updated, you should see a red text that says "Visibility is syncing...". Once the visibility is updated in YouTube, the text will turn back to green and say "Visibility in sync".

Restreaming to your own YouTube account
Enable Live Streaming on your YouTube account
Sign in to your YouTube account.
Click the Create icon (camera with a plus sign) at the top of the page.
Select Go Live.
Follow the prompts to verify your channel. This can take up to 24 hours to process, and it's recommended to do it in advance. There is no minimum subscriber requirement for streaming via webcam or encoder software on a desktop computer.
Schedule a new YouTube stream in your account
Sign in to your YouTube account.
Click the Create icon (camera with a plus sign) at the top of the page.
Select Go Live.
In the left menu, select "Manage" (calendar icon), then click on "Schedule Stream" in the top right corner.

Note: DO NOT use the "Stream" action (which you access when clicking on the "Stream" icon in the YouTube Studio). Using the "Schedule Streams" workflow will allow you to access important additional settings, such as enabling auto-start and disabling auto-stop (see below).
Follow the prompt to create a new stream:
Enter the title and description for the new live stream
Select "Streaming Software" as the broadcast type for your stream
Enter your preferences for the customization and visibility
Select the date and time you want to go live
Click "Done"
Under the Stream Settings:
Enable Auto-Start: Change from OFF to ON (the stream automatically goes live when you start sending data)
Enable Auto-Stop: we recommend keeping it OFF (which means the stream won't automatically end if you stop sending data for a short period, as connection drops may happen at race tracks...). - Do not forget to end your stream after your race! Because of YouTube's restriction, if your live stream runs for more than 12 hours, you won't be able to access your replay. If your race is longer than 12 hours, then you'll need to stop the current live stream after 12 hours and schedule a new one (you can choose the option to schedule a new stream with existing settings to keep the same settings and stream key).
Click on "Copy", next to the Stream Key:

If you are using the free MyRacesLive version...
Go to your MyRacesLive Stream Event, click on your live or upcoming Stream Event, then click on "Update" and paste your YouTube Stream key in the field called "Stream Key of your YouTube Channel".
If you are using the Premium or Pro version...
First, navigate to the Multistreaming page. From there, you'll be able to set up a destination and then use that destination for any subsequent Stream Event:
To configure a new stream destination:
Optionally enter a destination name, for example "My YouTube Account"
Select the type of service you want to stream to, in this case, "YouTube"
The Stream URL is auto-populated based on the service you select.
Paste your previously copied YouTube Stream Key there.
Click Save

When scheduling or updating your Stream Events, you can now select your custom Stream Destinations.

Restreaming to Twitch, Facebook, or Instagram
With the premium and pro subscriptions, you can restream to any RTMP/RTMPS destination, including Twitch, Facebook, or Instagram.
To stream to one of these RTMP/RTMPS platforms, follow the same workflow as for restreaming to YouTube, which consists of these high-level steps:
Copying the streaming key from the streaming platform of your choice:
Navigating to the Multistreaming page to create a new streaming destination
Selecting the service
Pasting your streaming key and clicking "Save"
Updating your stream event with your custom Stream Destinations.
Here's how each of these popular streaming platforms works, and how they compare concerning their restrictions on live duration, visibility options, access to replays, and more:
